Frequently Asked Questions
What is PP (Polypropylene)?+
PP (Polypropylene) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic produced by polymerising propylene, with low density, good chemical resistance and a comparatively high melting point. RAVMENT supplies PP in bulk and exports it worldwide — request a quote.
What is PP used for?+
Its main applications are injection-moulded housewares and automotive parts, woven bags and BOPP film, nonwoven fabrics, food packaging, pipe and fibre. RAVMENT supplies PP in bulk and exports it worldwide — request a quote.
What is the difference between homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene?+
Homopolymer contains only propylene units and gives higher stiffness and clarity. Random copolymer adds a small amount of ethylene, improving transparency and impact strength. Block (impact) copolymer carries more ethylene and holds up to impact at low temperature. The right grade follows from how the part is used.
