Frequently Asked Questions
What is PA (Polyamides / Nylon)?+
PA (Polyamides / Nylon) is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic whose chain units are linked by amide bonds, known commercially as nylon and valued for high mechanical strength, toughness and wear resistance. RAVMENT supplies PA in bulk and exports it worldwide — request a quote.
What is PA used for?+
Its main applications are engineering parts in automotive, textile yarns and filaments, food packaging film, cable ties, gears and bushings, and glass-fibre reinforced compounds. RAVMENT supplies PA in bulk and exports it worldwide — request a quote.
What is the difference between PA6 and PA66?+
Both are nylon. PA6 is polymerised from caprolactam, melts at around 220 °C and is easier to process, giving a tougher part. PA66 is made from hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid, melts at around 260 °C and holds higher stiffness and heat resistance, so it is preferred for under-bonnet components. Exact values depend on the grade and batch. RAVMENT supplies PA in bulk and exports it worldwide — request a quote.
