Mullite is an alumina-silica refractory aggregate engineered for high-temperature service. Its low thermal expansion, high thermal shock resistance and resistance to slag and chemical attack make it suitable for refractory bricks and mortars, foundry and investment casting, glass and ceramic kiln linings, and cement and petrochemical furnaces.
